My friend and I got up this morning and left the house at 7:00 ready for anything. We got up to Leadville and went to  Forebay Reservoir  above Twin Lakes. We fished with Powerbait and worms on the bottom, while we tossed out some lures. I got my first rainbow trout around 10:30 am, and it went from there. I ended up catching six, and my buddy got three... the limit is 4/person so we took 8. I NEVER keep fish, but we were having a big old fish cooking party that night with a bunch of people so yeah, I did.  It only took us two hours to get our limit of trout and clean them. Some had really nice pink meat. The weather was gorgeous, 59 degrees in town. The aspens were all turning.

On the way down we fished the  Arkansas River below Twin Lakes  and had a few "follow ins" but no hookups.

Next, we stopped at some ponds below  Fremont Pass  and caught a few brook trout on small  Kastmasters.   What an amazing day of fishing!!!!

I'm ready for the  Rocky Mountain Arsenal  tomorrow!

Hiked up to Seaman Reservoir today.  We caught five rainbow and two brown trout on spoons and nightcrawlers.  It was a nice warm day...this fall has been great!  Two bald eagles landed in a tree nearby and watched us fish for a while. The brown trout and two of the bows were packed full of perch!  In fact, one bow had a perch over 4 inches long in his stomach.  This trout eating perch frenzy has been gowing on for the last few years after the perch population explosion.  I'm sure there are some super hawgs swimming around in there with the phenominal perch forage base.

The N. fork of the Poudre had A TON of really nice fish in it!  We didn't fish it hard, but caught a couple of brown trout in a matter of minutes on nightcrawlers.  If you're a worm drifter, you better get up there and hit it before it turns into "flys and lures" only water.
